A ten-day hiking festival on the Cabot Trail and Northern Cape Breton that features guided hikes, evening activities & presentations, the hiker distance award, opening & closing ceremonies and a photo contest.
Attracting hikers from across North America and Europe, The Hike the Highlands festival is celebrating its 21st anniversary in 2024.
Experience the beauty of the Cape Breton Highlands on guided hikes during the day and through presentations and activities in the evenings.

The Island Wide Waterfall Weekend is a weekend to get up and get outside. Cape Breton Island will be bustling this weekend as visitors and residents are encouraged to join us as we travel to 12 different waterfalls across the Island!
What do you do when you’re feeling like you are in desperate need of a winter fix? Pick a date and then plan a strike mission to Ingonish, Cape Breton!
This region includes beautiful communities like Cape North, Bay St Lawrence, Capstick and Meat Cove.
You may want to work your way up to this hike! So consider conquering North River Falls as something to aim for as you build your hiking repertoire. The hike is a well-maintained trail, part of the North River Provincial Park and Wilderness Area.
