Harbour Wars is a friendly skills competition among Richmond County fishermen/women to raise money for the Cape Breton Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Patient Care Fund.
Harbour Wars will take place on August 24, 2019 (rain date August 25) in Little Harbour, Richmond County (just off Highway 247 on the way to Point Michaud Beach). In its inaugural year, Harbour Wars will challenge men and women in Richmond County’s fishing industry (which includes about 19 harbours) to raise pledges and battle it out to become Richmond County’s top harbour by competing in events such as fish filleting, dory races and an obstacle course.
In conjunction with the competition events, delicious local seafood will be showcased in the concession area; photos from a nautical photo competition being held leading up to the event will be sold; a 50/50 draw and silent auction will be held; and there will be entertainment. In future years, the event will grow to include fishing harbours from around Cape Breton.
Keep up with Parks Canada's reopenings. Museum, Attractions, National Parks, and Camping sites will all be opened gradually to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.
