Fête nationale des Acadiens

Date: Mon, Aug 15 2016

National Acadian Day – Fête nationale des Acadiens is a holiday which unites Acadians to celebrate their rich culture starting with a celebration of faith, followed by a “tintamarre” (noise parade) starting at la Digue and ending at Les Trois Pignons where a plaque, commemorating Jeanne Dugas, will be unveiled. In July 2012, the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada recommended Jeanne Dugas for designation as a National Historic Person. In the evening the celebrations continue with the production “Danse autour du monde” at la Place des arts Père Anselme-Chiasson
