Our 5 wilderness cabins are uniquely hand crafted by the owner Angelo with locally and custom built beds, stained glass windows, carvings and themed iron rails. All cabins have water views from your sheltered deck and are footsteps away from a communal cook space. Our central location is a PERFECT start for day tripping around the island and you are just footsteps away from North River Kayak Tours. Come experience why our guests commonly review us saying “we wish we could have stayed longer”.
The River Nest team is committed to making your stay unique and unforgettable. We have been a leader in the tourism industry for over 25 years and freely offer our island knowledge to our guests. Our space is specifically designed for relaxation with water views, hammocks blowing in the wind and world class kayaking next door. We have paid fine attention to our bedding and linens allowing you have a sleep experience like you have never had before. Angelo, being a musician, has provided a tuned guitar and tutorial sheet in each cabin as an added touch to your space and in case the sky decides to cry, you have a private covered patio deck. The tranquility of the area is second to none which we hope will allow you to unplug, unwind and relax.

As a songwriter, I’ve often described my creative process as though I have tuned into an invisible radio frequency.
It is well-established that dance tradition is an important, if not defining, influence on Cape Breton's traditional music.
