Learn about the traditional craft of blacksmithing at our local forge, FireHouse Ironworks Ltd. You may have seen the TV show Forged in Fire but trying your hand at blacksmithing will give you a new appreciation for the skill that is involved in the craft that helped build our civilization. Working with the local blacksmith you will make a small iron item to take home with you. Afterwards, retreat to the hardwood forest and spend the night in a modern off-grid camping cabin at Iron Mountain Wilderness Cabins. In the evening you can relax around the campfire or have a pint in the Iron Mountain Lodge home to Nova Scotias first off-grid pub. In the morning, get some exercise and take in the sights and sounds of the Acadian hardwood forest on a hike with a certified hiking guide on The Great Trail. If you are feeling up to it, we will walk 2.5km to a beautiful look-off of the Bras dOr Lakes and then back to the Lodge (5km round trip).
