10-hour Scheduled Closure between Ingonish and Neil’s Harbour in Cape Breton Highlands National Park
Ingonish, Cape Breton, August 24, 2022 –  Parks Canada would like to inform the public there will be a 10-hour scheduled closure between Ingonish and Neils Harbour while necessary work is performed at the Still Brook construction site, starting at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 until 6:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022.
The short-term closure is required, and during this time the road will be impassable to all traffic, including emergency vehicles. Barricades will be located near Halfway Brook and Black Brook. Construction crews will be working overnight to restore temporary water control measures put in place during last week’s heavy rainfall to allow the construction project to continue.

The re-establishment of the work is critical to continue the ongoing construction at this location as well as reduce the risk of further flooding.

Parks Canada apologizes for any inconveniences this may cause and would like to ensure residents and visitors that the planned closure is an operational requirement and public safety remains a top priority.

We appreciate your patience while we undertake this important work in Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
